The incident took place in Ulster County around 9:40 p.m., Sunday, June 7, in the town of Lloyd, said Chief of Lloyd Police James Janson.
According to Janso, William Judge, of Highland, was driving south on South Street when lost control of his 2019 Subaru and crashed through the front room of the Gunk Haus Restaurant.

The restaurant was closed at the time of the accident.
Judge, who was the only occupant of the vehicle was transported to Vassar Hospital by New Paltz Rescue Squad for facial and hand injuries, Janso said.
He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released on an appearance ticket. Judge is due to appear in court on Thursday, Aug. 13.
Lloyd Police were assisted at the scene by New York, State Police, Clintondale Fire, Highland Fire Department, and the New Paltz Rescue Squad.
